Discovering Cortals d'Encamp-Ensagents
What will we find in this excursion?
Nice area between Encamp and Canillo where, depending on the level, we will pass through the Tibetan Bridge and discover the Ensagents lakes, the Ensagents refuge, the Estinyola mountain pass, and the Alt del Griu Peak at 2,874 meters.

Today's hike is the same as the medium level with one exception. When we reach the Entinyola col we continue climbing 221 metres to the east, until we reach the Alt del Griu peak, at 2.874 metres above sea level. To descend we return to the col and follow the medium level route.

The area where we will be walking today stands out for its great natural wealth. The forests we will cross are home to the capercaillie and, when it's in season, you can find all sorts of mushrooms. The Ensagents lakes are highly appreciated by fishermen, especially the Moreno Lake. We start at the picnic area of the Cortals d'Encamp and, climbing steeply, we enter the forest until we reach the pleta de Baix, a large clearing where there is a crossroads. Take the one on the right which, first through the forest and then along a cliff, will take us to the Ensagents refuge. On the way up from the refuge to the Pedrusques peak, we will first pass the Ensagents lakes and then the Entinyola col. From the peak we will look for the path of la solana d' Ensagents to reach the Pleta de Baix and then to the starting point.

We leave the Cortals rock climbing wall and descend towards the Deveses river, crossing a small Tibetan bridge. At the Pleta dels Orris we will take a track that will take us to the Cortals picnic area. Here begins the path that would take us to the lakes and the Ensagents refuge, we will follow it for a while until we reach the crossroads that will lead us to the Campeà springs, passing through the forest of the same name. This is an open forest of black pine and an undergrowth of blueberries and rhododendrons, where the capercaillie finds ideal conditions to live. It is also worth mentioning that the Campeà forest is known in Andorra for its great mycological production. From the beautiful esplanade where the springs are located, we start the descent, always inside the forest, to the track located at the Pleta dels Orris, to finally finish at the climbing wall from where we started.
