What will we find in this excursion?
Les Valls del Comapedrosa Communal Natural Park has a protected Surface area of 15,42 km2 .Comapedrosa peak, the higuest point of Andorra, at 2.942 metres, is in the territory and gives its name to the park. Its impressive high mountain landscape, consistint of forests, small lakes and waterfalls, is particularly notable.

Car park N.P- Pla de l’Estany refuge-Col d’Arinsal-Pla de l’Estany peak- Car park N.P
Today we will face the most difficult route of the third edition of the AWF. The Pla de l'Estany peak, with its almost 1.300 metres of ascent, is a demanding route, although it presents no technical difficulties. We leave the Comapedrosa N.P. car park and, passing by the Coruvilla bordas and the Areny channel mountain chain, we arrive at the Pla de l'Estany refuge. A little further up from the refuge we take the Montmantell path which, following the river of the same name and passing by the Montmantell lakes, will take us to the Arinsal pass. Here, we will go westwards along a ridge which, although easy, will be the most technical section of the day. We will finally reach Pla de l'Estany peak at an altitude of 2.859 metres. The descent will be made by the same route as the ascent.
Car park N.P-Pla de l’Estany refuge-Bordas de Nous-Col de las Cases-Arinsal
We start from the Comapedrosa N.P. car park along a wide track until we take the Pla de l'Estany path. This path first passes by the Coruvilla bordas and de L'Areny channel, to finally reach the Pla de l'Estany refuge, also known as Joan Canut. This refuge is located in an impressive glacial cirque. We go back through la Pleta del Pla de l'Estany and take the GRP to go up the hill of la Font Podrida. Keep going and, maintaining more or less the same height, we reach the Prats Nous bordas, where we leave the GRP. Further on, past the borda del Torner, you will take a path that crosses the Comes plateau to finally reach the Cases col. This pass has traditionally been the natural passage between the Arinsal and Ordino valleys. A steep descent following the GR11 will lead us to Arinsal where today's excursion ends.
Beginning of Xixerella Valley-Collado Turer-Pal
We will start at the beginning of the Xixerella hunting reserve, outside the park, going up the valley along a narrow path surrounded by black pines and fir trees. If we are lucky, we will meet up with some wild goats or roe deer. The arrival at Turer pass offers excellent views of the Cabús pass, Llacs peak, Vallnord ski resort, etc. From there, with a steep descent at some points, we change the forest to red pine until we reach the village of Pal and its magnificent Romanesque church, Sant Climent de Pal.
