Discovering Riu Valley
What will we find in this excursion?
Today, all three levels will perform a circular journey, as long as they will be starting and finishing the excursion in the same spot.
This valley is a great unknown in the country, due to the fact that its access is exclusively on foot. Of glacier origin, like almost all of the andorran valleys, it will offer us spectacular views along the way. We will enjoy a great biological diversity, from the initial subalpine stage woods to the alpine meadows that we will find from the mountain shelter onwards. At the end of the valley, in the last part of the outing, we will find an abandoned village, l'Armiana, a remain of the life in the mountains in the past. We will finish the day in Sant Joan de Caselles romanic church, one of the most beautiful romanic churches in Andorra.
